Saturn Pictures
Saturn is a planet of our very own Solar system and is placed at the 6th position from sun. This planet is also named after Roman God. The average radius of this planet is roughly nine times the earth’s and its mass is 95 times the earth’s mass. It is the 2nd biggest planet of our solar system yet the lightest too! The distance between sun and Saturn is 856 million miles approximately. While about 18 moons have been named, Saturn has around 30 moons that have been found and this list is yet growing. Also, Titan is 2nd largest moon of our solar system and happens to be the largest moon of the planet itself.
The diameter of this planet is nearly 75,000 miles. Its composition is largely of hydrogen gas. It makes up to 97% while helium holds only 3% and a very minute quantity of methane and ammonia is also present. Let’s just put it this way, if you wish to land on Saturn, you can not do that because you will fall. The reason is that it is gaseous. In earth’s measure, one day at Saturn is of 10 hours and 30 minutes. This is the time it takes to rotate on its axis. Contrary to this, its year is of 29.5 earth years.

Saturn was first observed by very famous Galileo in 1610. An amazing thing about Saturn is its rings. When first noticed by Galileo, his equipments were not so advanced and hence, he saw disappearing and reappearing rings only to think he lost his mind. However, it is a phenomenon that is seen these days in a span of 14 years.
